Biography
Asu is a committed, caring and warm practitioner. She is passionate about making a difference and loves to see positive changes in her clients. Asu holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Macquarie University and is a registered Provisional Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI) and also a WDO sponsor.
She is a motivated learner and believes in personalising interventions based on the needs of individuals. She has undertaken training in various areas including CBT, Pain management, mindfulness, emotion focus therapy, schema therapy, internal family system therapy and applied behavioural analysis. She works with children, adolescents and adults presenting with ASD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, ODD, OCD, BPD and sleep disorder. She helps children and young adults with difficulties in social skills and self-regulation. She is a therapist with life experience with an engineering background.
Prior to this profession, Asu has studied and worked in different areas including engineering, teaching, sales and management. She brought her insight and logical problem solving from engineering and married it with neuroscience and psychology. Asu speaks Persian/Farsi, Kurdish and English and works with clients from various backgrounds.
