What is ADHD?
Why do ADHD testing?
ADHD testing is only available to clients aged 6 and up (Psychiatry 8+).
The purpose of ADHD testing is to evaluate a person’s symptoms and behaviors to determine whether they meet the diagnostic criteria for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD testing is typically done by a mental health professional, such as a psychologist, psychiatrist, or clinical social worker, and can involve a variety of assessment tools and methods.
The primary goal of ADHD testing is to help individuals who are experiencing difficulties with attention, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity to receive an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. An accurate diagnosis can help individuals understand their challenges, receive appropriate treatment, and develop strategies to manage their symptoms, such as medication, behavioural therapy, and/or other interventions. It can also help individuals access educational or workplace accommodations that can aid and improve their functioning and quality of life.
ADHD testing may also be helpful in ruling out other conditions that can mimic the symptoms of ADHD and in identifying any comorbid conditions that may complicate diagnosis or treatment, such as, but not limited to, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety or depression, learning disabilities, and/or substance abuse. Overall, the purpose of ADHD testing is to help individuals receive an accurate diagnosis, tailored treatment, and support to manage their symptoms and improve their functioning.

A breakdown of our ADHD testing process
Part 1 - Intake Interview ($300)
The purpose of the initial 2-hour consultation is to ensure that the assessment is what you require, as well as inform our clinician of important historical and current information that is required for your report and diagnosis. This session can be conducted in-person or via telehealth (online consultation).
Part 2 - Diagnostic Interview ($250)
The diagnostic interview is a 2-hour semi-structured interview. The core symptoms to make a diagnosis of ADHD are canvassed during this interview. This session can be conducted in-person or via telehealth (online consultation).
Part 3 - Psychological or Psychiatric Assessment
OPTION 1 - Psychological Assessment ($1250)
Part A – Cognitive Assessment (WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, WAIS-IV) $850
Wechsler Intelligence Tests are a series of standardised tests used to assess cognitive ability and intelligence in individuals. Scores are compiled into a Full Scale IQ (FSIQ) and index scores, as well as ancillary index scores; and also provide insights into specific cognitive strengths and weaknesses.
Reports are typically delivered within 4–6 weeks after the final assessment, depending on clinician capacity. Feel free to discuss any deadlines with our admin staff.
Part B – Clinical Interview $200 (Medicare rebate may be applicable)
During the 1-hour clinical interview session, the psychologist will clarify any areas of potential uncertainty from the intake interview and explore in more detail any areas that required further information. Additional information about possible co-occurring symptoms are also explored further. This session can be conducted in-person or via telehealth (online consultation).
Part C – Feedback Session $200 (Medicare rebate may be applicable)
During the 1-hour feedback session the psychologist will go over the results with you. Reports will be released after the feedback session, once final payments are confirmed. This session can be conducted in-person or via telehealth (online consultation).
